Met Gala 2020 Cancelled but Stars Dress Up Anyway

Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala or Costume Institute Benefit, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute in New York City. The ‘Met Ball’ marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. It can also be recalled that the ball is an avenue for celebrities to showcase their fashion choices depending on the theme of the year.

“Colloquially and affectionately referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out,” the Met Gala 2020 is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The event welcomes stars, young creatives, and industry paragons alike. Though this year’s event, themed around the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition: “About Time: Fashion and Duration,” has been postponed, Vogue will be sharing a retrospective of the biggest moments, most iconic looks, and best memories of events past, leading up to the first Monday in May,” Vogue describes Met Gala.

Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic that prohibits social gatherings, the Met Gala 2020 was canceled. However, it didn’t stop some celebrities from donning their fashion takes for the event.
